League of Legends’ Clash mode has been an improbably long time coming, but the end is finally in sight. Following last month’s North American Clash test, the European counterpart is about to get underway. Team creation is now open, and the proper tournament begins this weekend – with some prizes for participation.
You can register your team until October 4 on EUW, EUNE, and RU servers, as long as you’ve completed your rank placements and your honor is above level two. The actual tournaments begin at 19:00 CEST (or 18:00 MSK) on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6. You won’t need a ticket to get into either session.
As with the NA test, Riot’s using these sessions to try rolling bracket starts, single-day tournaments, and smarter tech for matching when somebody drops from a bracket – all in an effort to reduce server load and avoid the severe population problems that indefinitely delayed Clash over a year ago.
You can check out the full details on the official site.
If you missed everything the first time around, Clash is an effort to bring a more competitive, esports-style experience to players at home. When the mode actually goes live, tickets will let you buy into competition and a chance at the resulting rewards.
