Grant Rousseau to Excel Esports
“We want to welcome Grant Rousseau as our new Head of Operations,” wrote Excel Esports on the new hire. “We look forward to working with him as we establish ourselves as a force within European esports.”
Before joining Excel, Grant Rousseau worked as Director of Team Operations at OverActive Media Group where he worked with Splyce, Toronto Defiant, and Mad Lions. He has also worked with Splyce before the acquisition. Other roles include LCS team Manager and Player Development Coach for Berlin-based organization Mysterious Monkeys and Counter Logic Gaming. Some of his other positions include roles at Ernst & Young and Mondelēz International. Rousseau earned his Masters of Engineering at Loughborough University.
“Extremely excited to say that I’ve joined Excel Esports. Since this path began I have always said that I wanted to find ways to grow UK Esports, and now that’s viable,” said Grant Rousseau, when describing the announcement. “Lot’s of work to do on both internal [operations] and the performance side, but can’t wait to crack on with it all!”
Excel Esports is most known for its League of Legends European Championship team. The organization also had a team for amateur competitions before the EU LCS went into franchising. During 2019’s LEC Spring Split, the team finished with 5 wins and 13 losses, in 9th place. The 2019 LEC Summer Split is not over yet with two more weeks. However, Excel Esports is similarly in the bottom of the standings at 8th place. They are tied with Misfits Gaming and SK Gaming at 4 wins and 10 losses.
The team he last worked with was Splyce. Do you think Excel Esports can achieve the same results that Splyce have in the next season? Let us know in the comments, and keep up with all of the latest League of Legends news and content here at Daily Esports.
